Dan Tanner

Dan Tanner

Dan is one of our Co-Founders and has an excellent background in the professional coaching industry; working with both children and adults alike. He is currently a coach educator for England Rugby and is responsible for leading the RFU's award courses in the South West of England, teaching adults how to coach children and mentoring them along the way.

Not only does Dan have a great background in the coaching industry, but for over 10 years now he has also been delivering high quality PE lessons to school children aged 4 - 18 years old; gaining an invaluable wealth of knowledge on Primary School PE.

Dan's expertise is utilised effectively within Atlas Sports, delivering our 'Teaching PE: Development Programme' and liaising with PE co-ordinators, helping them to improve their school’s delivery of PE.

James Harber

James Harber

James is one of two Atlas Sports Co-Founders, having worked alongside Dan in 2012 to establish the company. James has a wealth of teaching knowledge and has worked in education for 6 years now.

Starting out as a trainee physical education teacher in Gloucester, James moved up through the ranks within his school quickly. He qualified in 2011, became head of Boys PE in 2012 and, most recently, was appointed Director of Faculty as part of the operational leadership team in his school.

James has been inspected by Ofsted in his most recent teaching post and he was graded ‘outstanding’ in this observation. It is this quality that is driving the standards of delivery within Atlas Sports, helping all teachers that we work with strive towards excellence.

Duncan Spurrier

Duncan Spurrier

Duncan joined Atlas Sports in 2012 during his time at university for a work experience placement. However, it didn't take Dan and James long to realise his potential, and after the placement ended they were keen to hand Duncan a full-time position. Since then, Duncan has proved to be an invaluable member of the team and has quickly moved up the ranks.

Excelling at behaviour management and building formidable inter-school staff relationships, it wasn't long before the sports development graduate was handed more responsibility, now managing our After School Clubs.

Duncan's excellent background in sport (theoretically and practically) has been utilised effectively within Atlas Sports, collaborating with all members of staff to produce high quality lesson plans and resources for all Atlas Sports Schools to capitalise on.
